The main concept was to select a repertoire that offers equal “right of lead” for both violin and piano. We noticed that Brahms, Beethoven, Bartók, and Elgar illuminate an almost complete palette of human emotions—from drama to joy.
As a Ukrainian pianist, I feel a very deep connection with Elgar. His music was written under circumstances that, sadly, echo mine today—facing war, and finding escape through music. He created a beautiful world of his own.
It is an equal exchange between two powerful and independent instruments—so different in their nature, yet so unique in how they complement each other. It is a conversation that never ends.
